Welcome to the Hydrated Life blog. We are suppose to be living a life full of happiness, joy and prosperity but throughout our lives we allow our thoughts and perceptions of events that have occurred, to take hold of us and hold us back from all the blessings the universe has instore for us. Just as a seed knows how to grow, you know how to live. So what is holding you back?

Like the seed, prior to it becoming the beautiful flower or delicious vegetables, you first must prepare the soil. One must till the soil and fertilize it before placing the seed in the ground or planter. The same goes for desired changed. First you must recognize that change needs to happen. Ask yourself if you are living a meaningful life or just existing.

For many years, 37 to be exact, I lived a life of hating myself. Over the years people would tell me “you are so nice. You have a sweet spirit.” But deep inside, I would say to myself “but you don’t know the real me!” It wasn’t until 2002 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, that I realized how all the negative self talk, lack of self forgiveness and years of burying my pain did I wake up and begin to realize I needed to change.

In 2003, I asked my oncologist what I could do so I never had to go through chemotherapy or radiation again. She said “nothing, It was a fluke thing I go it.” I knew I needed to change every aspect of my life , so I set out to change my life. It didn’t happen overnight but each day, I planted seeds of positivity, I watered them, sowed them and then harvested the happiness and desires that I always new I had inside of me. That was 20 years ago. You see, I never saw myself the way other people saw me. I found strength inside, changed my eating habits, began to workout, and sought out counseling. I had opened my mind and heart to God. The journey was not an easy one, but it all started with one small step, planting the seed of positivity. Knowing I had to change the unhealthy beliefs of myself and I needed to find people who could help me.

The journey of life can be exciting if you let it. Your world is what you make it but you have to believe you can change it. I leave you with this one challenge; go write out one area of your life you want to change, till the soil around you, find podcasts, books and people that speak on that area and prepare yourself for a planting and harvest you have only dreamed of.
